Well, unsurprisingly I haven’t updated this blog in a while as I switched modes to pursue my Master in Education in 2020. Since I last posted I have earned that masters and taught art full-time at the middle school level in beautiful Bend, Oregon. It was an absolute joy! I love teaching and I really enjoyed that age level, even though I did miss working with adults as collaborators and students as I was not working on my shield-making practice full time.

Some highlights of my experience teaching are the absolutly amazing works my students created (see pictures). I had the honor of teaching studnets from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels, and I particularly enjoyed watching my students grow as artists and people, and our discussions about art and ethics.

I have now moved states! I just arrived in Austin, Texas where I am really enjoying the art community. I have opened up my shield practice to full-time again (gotta catch up on that waitlist!) and am looking for more teaching and collaborating oppertunities. 🙂
